Kent Council refuses to reveal Brexit impact assessments

Kent will undoubtedly be at the forefront of Brexit – most visibly if Kent’s roads are turned into impromptu lorry-parks, but also the impact on businesses, fruit-farming, social care and the NHS.

As you would expect, Kent County Council has commissioned impact assessments into what Brexit will mean for Kent.

However Kent County Council has chosen to keep these secret from not only us – the residents who paid for them – but even most of the councillors who are expected to vote on decisions that that will be key to managing the disruption caused by Brexit.

How can we be confident in the Council’s preparedness for Brexit if the Council refuses to disclose their own assessments?
